Then follow the instructions to update your firmware

For PS4 VX4 Wireless

New PC firmware available (v2.5.4).

Simply connect to PS4 via USB cable and press and hold the Home key.

Step 1:
Download the latest firmware.

Unzip the filesand run the update “.exe” file

Step 2:
Press D-Pad down and Triangle and connect via usb cable.
The menu will change showing the controller is ready to update.

Step 3:
Press “update” and the firmware will load.
Once completed it will show “PASS”.

Only if it fails, will the customer need to use the “reset” button on the rear of the controller to wipe corrupt firmware.

VX4 Wired

New PC firmware available.(v2.5.02) Please only use this if you do not have an Audio port on your controller.

For PS4 use, no update is required – Simply connect via USB cable and press and hold the Home key.

Step 1:
Download the latest firmware.
Unzip the files and run the “.exe” file and select “wired” version.

Step 2:
Press D-Pad down and Triangle and connect via usb cable.

Press “update”.
Once completed, remove the USB cable.

VX4 Wired with Audio

New PC firmware available (v1.0.4). Please only use this if you have an Audio port on your controller.

For PS4 use, no update is required – Simply connect via USB cable and press and hold the Home key.

Download the latest firmware.
Unzip the files and run the “.exe” file and select “wired” version.

Step 2:
Press and hold the touchpad button and then connect via USB cable.The menu will change showing the controller is ready to update.

Step 3:
Press “update”.
Once completed, remove the USB cable.

For Nintendo WX4 Wireless

No firmware update currently needed.

In handheld mode
Navigate to the controllers menu, select “Change grips order” and then press “Y” and “Home key” together on the controller until the LEDs flash. After approximately 10-15 seconds the controller will be connected and will vibrate.

Or alternatively

In dock mode
Connect to your Switch dock via the USB cable provided and press the home key on your controller until the lights flash. After approximately 10-15 seconds your controller will connect and vibrate. The cable can then be removed for wireless play.

Step 1:
Download the latest firmware.
Unzip the files and run the “.exe” firmware tool.
Select “Auto Download” option.

Step 2:
Open the firmware tool.
Hold D-Pad up and B and whilst compressed, insert the USB cable to the PC.
The download will start.

Step 3:
Once the download has completed you will see the word “PASS”.
Remove the USB cable from the PC

For Nintendo WX4 Wired

No firmware update currently needed.

Simply connect to Switch via the USB cable and ensure wired connectivity is turned on in the settings menu.

Step 1:
Download the latest firmware.
Unzip the files and run the “.exe” file.

Step 2:
Select the firmware “.hex file” file included in the Switch package downloaded.
Connect the WX-4 wired to the PC via USB cable.
Press “Download”.

Step 3:
Once complete, disconnect the USB cable.

For JC-20 Wireless

New firmware available (customizable buttons / left joy con fix).

To fully utilise the new Nintendo™ customisable button functionality – and resolve the small issue where the left (Blue) controller fails to load into “single player” mode.

In handheld mode
Navigate to the controllers menu, select “Change grips order” and then press and hold the small “pair” button until the LED’s flash. After approximately 10-15 seconds the controller will be connected and will vibrate.

Or alternatively

In dock mode
Connect to your Switch dock via the USB cable provided and press any key on your controller until the LED’s flash. After approximately 10-15 seconds your controller will connect and vibrate. The cable can then be removed for wireless play.

Step 2:

  1. Firstly, please ensure you have a single USB-C data cable to hand. Please do not use the twin charging cable.
    Please also ensure your controller has battery power.
  2. Open the firmware tool.
  3. Before connecting you controller to the PC, press any button on your controller so the LED’s begin to flash.
  4. Connect the controller whilst the LED’s are flashing and the download will automatically start.
  5. Step 3:
    Once the download has completed you will see the word “PASS”.
    Remove the USB cable from the PC.
